MONTHLY BULLETIN January 2018 - For Members ONLY

Pekeliling Berhubung Penglibatan Pesara Sebagai Anggota Lembaga Bagi Koperasi Yang Dianggotai Oleh Kakitangan Kerajaan

The above "Garis Panduan" has been issued by SKM (Suruhanjaya Koperasi Malaysia) requiring us to address the glaring imbalance in the composition of the Board of Directors.

The Current Board consists of 12 members, 11 of whom are retirees. This does not truly reflect the make-up of the membership. About 51% of members are still in service but only one of them sits on the board.

Thus, we need to remedy this unhealthy situation by adopting measures withn the confines of our By-laws.

We urge members who are in service to step forward and offer their services by filing their nominations to contest in the upcoming 2018 / 2019 elections.
This measure to rejunevate the Board needs the concerted effort and the undivided support of retired members, too.

Together, we will strive to comply with the Guidelines of SKM with the correct mix of experience and youth to take our Koperasi forward.

Thank you.

We wish to inform you that the External Auditors Messrs Tham & Co and Kiat Associates who were appointed at the last Annual General Meeting are unable to conduct the audit of our accounts for the financial year ending 31 December 2017 due to their appointment not being renewed by Suruhanjaya Koperasi Malaysia.

After consulting the Pengarah Suruhanjaya Koperasi Malaysia Negeri Pulau Pinang, the Board at its meeting held on 28 December 2017 unanimously agreed to appoint Messrs Norhashimah & Partners to conduct the audit of our accounts for the .financial year ending 31.12.2017.
